About Tilman Skowroneck Bremen-born Tilman Skowroneck studied harpsichord in The Hague and Amsterdam with Bob van Asperen, Anneke Uittenbosch, Ton Koopman and Gustav Leonhardt. In 1991 he was engaged as harpsichordist and fortepianist in the Swedish baroque ensemble Corona Artis. The ensemble consisted of six musicians playing on period instruments (violin I, II, viola, cello, flute and harpsichord/fortepiano).

The harpsichord is a nigh-copy of the 1728 two-manual Christian Zell in the Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe, Hamburg, made by Martin Skowroneck in 1976.

These qualities are three in number. A harpsichord plectrum - needs to be sturdy, - must function well, that is, it may not get caught in some way, or pull the string out of tune, Skowroneck’s first attempt was a two-manual instrument with four sets of strings, including a 16–foot stop, based on the Berlin Musical Instrument Museum’s No. 316 (the so called “Bach-Harpsichord”) with elements of the museum’s No.5, probably by Gottfried Silbermann.
